In the Community Focus category, assistant editor MATTHEW S. BAJKO took first place. In the Arts and Entertainment category, arts and nightlife editor JIM PROVENZANO received second place. News editor CYNTHIA LAIRD and publisher MICHAEL YAMASHITA took second place in the Editorial Comment category. In the Sports Feature category, Bajko received third place. Assistant editor JOHN FERRANNINI received third place in the Technology Reporting category.

THE CURVE FOUNDATION and NLGJA: THE ASSOCIATION OF LGBTQ+ JOURNALISTS announced the 2026-27 recipients of the Curve Fellowship for Emerging Journalists. ANN NORTHRUP announced she is stepping down as co-host and co-executive producer of the weekly national GAY USA cable news show after a 30-year run. Her final show was taped on July 29, 2026.

OUT IN JERSEY, based in Trenton, has promoted news editor NICK PETRUNCIO to editor in chief following the departure of SAM MARTINO. News writer SPENCER WATSON has been promoted to news editor.

QSALTLAKE, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, sponsored its annual QSaltLake Day at Lagoon Amusement Park, the state’s largest amusement park, on July 19, 2026.
