ADELANTE, based in Los Angeles, entered its 30th year of publication with its June 2026 issue.

BAY AREA REPORTER, based in San Francisco, announced on July 7, 2026, that it received five California Journalism Awards from the California News Publishers Association. The entries were for 2025. In the Community Focus category, assistant editor MATTHEW S. BAJKO took first place. In the Arts and Entertainment category, arts and nightlife editor JIM PROVENZANO received second place. News editor CYNTHIA LAIRD and publisher MICHAEL YAMASHITA took second place in the Editorial Comment category. In the Sports Feature category, Bajko received third place. Assistant editor JOHN FERRANNINI received third place in the Technology Reporting category.

THE CURVE FOUNDATION and NLGJA: THE ASSOCIATION OF LGBTQ+ JOURNALISTS announced the 2026-27 recipients of the Curve Fellowship for Emerging Journalists. Recipients are BECCA MOST of Tacoma, Wash.; CLARISSA BROOKS of Atlanta; DIVYA KARTHIKEYAN of Louisville, Ky.; MEGHAN MCKINNEY of Des Moines, Iowa; and SHRUTI RAJKUMAR of New York, N.Y.

DALLAS VOICE entered its 43rd year of publication with its May 1, 2026, issue.

GED MAGAZINE, based in Palm Springs, Calif., entered its 14th year of publication with its June 2026 issue.

ANN NORTHRUP announced she is stepping down as co-host and co-executive producer of the weekly national GAY USA cable news show after a 30-year run. Her final show was taped on July 29, 2026.

OUT IN JERSEY, based in Trenton, has promoted news editor NICK PETRUNCIO to editor in chief following the departure of SAM MARTINO. News writer SPENCER WATSON has been promoted to news editor.

QSALTLAKE, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, sponsored its annual QSaltLake Day at Lagoon Amusement Park, the state’s largest amusement park, on July 19, 2026.

RAGE MONTHLY, based in San Diego, celebrated its 19th anniversary with its June 2026 issue.

SAN FRANCISCO BAY TIMES and the Golden Gate Business Association presented their first annual LGBTQ+ Business Expo on June 2, 2026.
